GLA Uniform Policy

In keeping with the Mission, Vision and Values of Gibraltar Leadership Academy all students wear a uniform. This policy acknowledges a respect for self and others by supporting each student to actively and equitably participate fully in a healthy learning environment through the creation of safe, inclusive and an accepting school community.

Boys Dress Code

  • Boys must wear a maroon short-sleeve or long-sleeve shirt with the GLA emblem.
  • Boys must wear plain black pants without any logos or markings (e.g., Nike, Adidas).
  • Boys may wear the GLA hoodie with a GLA emblem and a plain black shirt underneath; hoodies cannot be removed during the school day (e.g., at recess).
  • Boys cannot wear shirts of any other colour under their hoodies.
  • Students may wear any colour shoes and socks with their uniform
  • Running shoes are required for gym class

Girls Dress Code

  • Girls in Grade 4 may wear a maroon short-sleeve or long-sleeve shirt with the GLA emblem.
  • Girls from Grade 5 – 12 must wear a maroon long-sleeve shirt with the GLA emblem.
  • Girls must wear plain solid black pants without logos or markings (e.g., Nike, Adidas), and pants must be loose-fitting. Shirts must be long enough to cover the behind.
  • Girls may wear the GLA hoodie with a GLA emblem and a plain black shirt underneath; hoodies cannot be removed during school hours (e.g. at recess).
  • Girls cannot wear shirts of any other colour under their hoodies.
  • Girls may wear the GLA jersey as part of their uniform.
  • Girls from Grade 5 – 12 cannot wear short-sleeve shirts.
  • Girls from Grade 5 -12 must wear a hijab that covers their hair. Hijab colours must be black or maroon.
  • Girls from Grade 6 -12 may also wear a plain, solid black closed abaya.
  • The required uniform consists of the maroon, GLA top with logo paired with black pants.
  • Running shoes are required for gym class
